Variations And Extras
Q&A
Why does 1 Minute Media charge for Variations or Extras to an Order?
We’re committed to working closely with your team to maintain the budget outlined in your order.
However, in the creative world of video and content production, unexpected needs can sometimes arise. For example, you might decide to add services like animation to a live-action video, reschedule a shoot due to timeline changes, or request an additional proof of a video edit beyond what’s included.
When these situations occur, our team will always provide a detailed quote before proceeding with any services outside your original order.
Will i be charged for an extra edit even if i only need a small change after the included revisions?
Typically, any changes requested after the included revisions will incur an additional production fee. While an additional edit may seem like a small adjustment, it often involves several production steps: your Production Manager will consult with you on the change, instruct the editor, who will then re-open the project, make the edit, render, save, and upload the updated video to Vimeo Preview. Afterward, the Production Manager will review the update before contacting you with the new edit.
Our team is committed to providing an accurate quote based only on the necessary time and effort and will strive to minimize the estimation whenever possible.
Will i be charged for rescheduling a shoot?
Rescheduling a shoot will incur a small fee. This is because a reschedule often affects crew availability, location bookings, and other logistical arrangements. However, we understand that schedules can shift unexpectedly, and we aim to be flexible where possible.
If you anticipate a potential change, please let us know as soon as possible. Our team will work with you to minimize any additional costs, and we’ll inform you in advance if rescheduling fees apply.
How much will i be charged if i need to reschedule a shoot?
Rescheduling Crew and Talent:
The rescheduling fee depends on the number of crew members and talent involved. We aim to keep these fees as low as possible, and the charge will generally not exceed $150 + GST per crew member or talent.
Rescheduling Outdoor Permits:
We also strive to minimize rescheduling fees for permits, though several factors come into play, such as the number of governing bodies that need to be contacted. For instance, some outdoor permits require only local council approval, while others involve multiple authorities, such as the local council, state agencies (e.g., NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services), and CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority). 1 Minute Media’s fee for rescheduling permits is capped at $150 + GST per authority.
Please note that governing bodies may also charge their own rescheduling fee.
Rescheduling Airbnb and Film Studios:
If we can rebook the same Airbnb or studio, 1 Minute Media will cap our rescheduling fee at $150 + GST.
Please note that third-party providers, such as Airbnb and film studios, may apply their own rescheduling fees.
What’s 1 Minute Media's process for billing extras?
1 Minute Media’s Process for Billing Extras:
Consultation: Your Production Assistant or Production Manager will first discuss the additional services you’d like to add.
Quotation: They will then provide a comprehensive quote to help you budget for these services.
Review: At this stage, you may wish to revise the items you’re considering.
Invoicing: If you choose to proceed, our team will issue an “Extras Invoice” that itemizes the additional production services, with the agreed-upon fee.
Payment Terms: Payment for additional items is due within 7 days of receiving the invoice unless otherwise agreed. This invoice and payment are treated as a separate installment rather than being added to the final balance invoice.
