Why The World’s Just Getting Started With Video

SocialMedia

In 2018 Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram all made major changes to their algorithms. These updates fundamentally changed the way audiences are reached on social media. A major part of that change… is video! Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg predicted “I see video as a megatrend,” and in 2018 rewarded video posts on his social platform accordingly. Video posts now outrank images and copy on all the main social media sites.

Needless to say, video marketing is becoming a crucial part of a business’ ability to reach, educate, and connect with new customers and staff on all the major social media channels as well as on your website.

Luckily, it doesn’t take much money to get started!

You can do it

Your business, whether small or large can make a huge impact with videos on social media.

Throughout 2018 1 Minute Media offered a “social media” cut with our clients videos. This was a huge success.

In 2023 we are ramping up to take this a step further.

Will any video do?

Well, the simple answer is no, but don’t despair. Video strategies are easy.
We have all noticed that the average attention span is going down online? So, taking advantage of this to make the maximum impact means breaking your main video down into short “native” social cuts.

It’s simple, your main feature video (of 1- 3 minutes in length) goes on your website.

The social cuts are short teasers, presented in a strategic program each week on your social media. “Native” means we will format the video for optimum play across social media. We don’t advise using links from YouTube – people don’t have time for click through. It’s best practice to post your videos as MP4 or other “native” formats – the one’s that just play before you’ve hit the play button.

We know you will see results on social because all the evidence points to this.

Here are 2 ideas to get you started:

Feature and Social Package 1 – Customer Testimonial

We’ll interview an interesting customer as your main video – each week you reveal one short episode on social media – this would be one great compliment per social cut.  Impressed customers can click through to your website for the full story – where they will be called to action.

Feature and Social Package 2 – Product or Service

Show off all the best features of your product or service in the main video which will enhance your website.
Each week reveal one feature through the social cut. Again impressed clients click through to your website for the full reveal.

Why don’t we get some behind the scenes footage while we’re onsite, these can be captioned and used as more great video content, keeping you top of mind in your social space.

Try one of these ideas or jot down some of your own video ideas and let’s map them together to form a strategic social media – video strategy for you for 2023.
